jjpm74 (3087), Stratford, CT 06614, Connecticut, USA May 9, 2008 The only difference between this beer is that it was not blended from multiple barrels. Pours mahogany with a thin tan head. Smells of whiskey with some dark raisins coming into play. Tastes bitter and lightly boozy with caramel and toffee being the dominant factors. Mouthfeel is velvety with a finish that yields some residual sweetness. A fun experiment.
joebudzjoe (112), Connecticut, USA May 18, 2008 Smells like bourbon but has a cloudy apple cider appearance. Tastes slightly acidic as the warm ale is tasted. For the most part, the alcohol flavor is well hidden, however the undertones are too understated. LooseCannon (680), Norfolk, Virginia, USA May 9, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Pours reddish brown in color with off white head. Aroma malty and whiskey. Taste sweet, malty and whiskey with clean finsih.
