Commercial Description: The first in a series of brews created to explore the experimental aspects of Belgian brewing. Our brewer has blended multiple strains of Belgian yeasts, creating a proprietary blend for use in this series, giving them unique characteristics not found anywhere else. The "mist" reflects the light spritz of a misty Belgian autumn morning. Unfiltered, this ale is pale yellow in color with a slight haze created by the yeast left in suspension, giving it its distinctive flavor profile. Moderate in alcohol and low hop level makes this one very drinkable! 12 IBUs
An unfiltered bee, thin head and a bit of lace. Medium at best mouthfeel. Thin head. A bit of yeast and some malt. IBU 12. I didn’t get much in the aroma. Drying finish.
I stopped here to try a few new beers and take advantage of the sweet happy hour special ($2.25 pints). Since this was the lightest offering I was interested in I ordered it first. Overall it is nicely done and a great way to start a drinking session. You might be able to drink a few if you wanted to be single minded.
Aroma / Appearance - The cloudy golden body had no real head though the glass was filled to the brim. Honey wheat cheerios, light maltiness and a sweetness created a simple but informative bouquet.
Flavor / Palate - The carbonated mouthfeel faded fast so it took a few sips to pick up the wheat and floral notes. There is a nice hoppiness to the tail end that lingers in the throat just long enough to make you think about ordering a second. There was not much else to pick up; this is basically a one-trick pony. However it is an effective one that is worth trying if it still happens to be on tap or is re-released.
