Brigadier (1212), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA Nov 20, 2008 On tap at brewpub
The offerings were pretty slim on a quiet Friday so I eventually settled on this. Probably one of the best choices at the time it makes me wonder if the quality and selection of Willoughby’s beers is sliding. They used to have several special taps; now it is only the regular (and seasonal) stuff listed on the web site. It may still be worth a stop if you happen to be around at Happy Hour but most things are solid at $2.50 a pour.
Aroma / Appearance - There was no room for head as it came filled to the top. Golden and transparent it smelled of simple sweetness, mellow hops and other light aspects. It’s nothing special but not flawed.
Flavor / Palate - Wheat and grain form the aroma you would expect from a basic pale ale. Clean and moist, it has a grassy characteristic to it. Sessionable this is a good deal at $2.50. If you are looking for a typical pale ale this is above average; if you are looking for the cream of the crop drive further into Cleveland.
