Dogbrick (2816), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 29, 2005 Updated: May 31, 2005On draught at 69 Taps in Akron. Pours a dark brown color with reddish highlights. Medium beige head that lasted pretty well. Thin and sticky lacing. Pleasant aroma of malt and nuts. Medium-bodied and sweet with lots of malt flavor. Some caramel and nuts come through as it warms, and the 8.7%+ alcohol is well-masked. The finish is malty and is a little thin compared to the great Doppelbocks out there, and that is really the only thing keeping this beer from being a standout. Otherwise it was very enjoyable. bkelley68 (467), Lakewood, Ohio, USA May 8, 2005 Ruddy, mahogany color with no head. Very sugary sweet aromas with hints chocolate and cake. Over the top sweetness. Lots of brown sugar like flavors. Not my cup of tea (or anyone else I was with on that evenings).
