Some might find it cloying, but I have a sweet tooth so its no big deal. Caramel and malt are present plus a big dose of vanilla. Perhaps a bit artificial. Drank a bit like a Captain Morgan and Coke. Body was thin. I will at least give the A-B team some credit for trying something different. TheMurphys (18), Willowbrook, Illinois, USA

The color is a very nice golden read color. there is little head that does not last and that takes away from the look. the taste is fairly decent a bit of smoke wood up front and a nice sweet vanilla finish. I kind of like it 17thfloor (1452), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Pours a nice glowing red tinted amber with a small frothy white head. Really odd aroma, sweet buttery barrel, vanilla extract, and a hint of roasted malt (from bottle). First taste is of vanilla bean quickly followed by cheap macro barley. Finishes with lots of vanilla bean and some buttery barrel. Its drinkable... The palate is actually pretty nice, medium body, lightly syrupy with nice finer sizzling carbonation. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 7, 2008 Amber red in color with an orangish head. Slight earthy smell. Hoppy taste with a hint of vanilla in the aftertaste. I thought there was a nutmeg taste to it as well. I was very impressed with this beer. You gotta love winter brews. Earlier Rating: 4/27/2008 Total Score: 3.6 Caramel smell with a hint of vanilla. You could definitely taste the vanilla in this brew. Dark copper in color with little to no head. Not a bad brew. I have not had a winter brew that I have not liked. tgncc (809), Bellmore, New York, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Dec 6, 2008 From a 12 fl. oz. bottle marked 08291DF94. Nice looking amber red pour but a strange gray beige topping. Aroma of weak grapes and bread. Weird vanilla extract taste with some nutmeg thrown in. It tastes to much like hard liquor for my tastes. ehhdayton (1113), USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 2, 2008 Pours dark amber with a white head. Has very little aroma with only a hint of vanilla. Flavors of bourbon and vanilla dominate but almost no malt is apparent. Slight bitterness at the finish. Earlier Rating: 11/1/2006 Total Score: 2.8 Pour a clear amber with an off white head. The aroma is loaded with vanilla notes and slight oakiness. The flavor is pretty much one dimensional with vanilla. There is a slight hint of the oak. Hop or malt flavor is undetectable and there is a slight graininess. Finish has a carbonated touch. MrBeerFanatic (356), jamestown, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Pours a medium dark amber with a frothy off white head. Aromas of bannana, vanilla,
with a hint of spice. Some of the aromas carry over into the flavor here with hints of
spice and bananna with the vanilla coming through nicely at the end. My main disapointment
was the lack of sweetness here. Average mouthfeel, though a little swooth. Slightly bitter
end. Not bad all around.
