I think the problem with it is it’s more vanilla than bourbon flavor for sure. It’s a little thin untill it warms and then it’s just too heavy on the vanilla. Not saying it’s bad but Iwould have liked it more if the could have balanced the bourbon vanilla and malt flavors a little more. Noticed some hints of chocolate on the finish. All in all not bad for what it is seasonal AB. Would never buy it in the bottle again but might try it on tap, mainly because I belivee its offered mostly at chain type restaurants like Fridays or whatever. Aroma is thick with vanilla, and a touch of light-brown sugar. Flavor is immediately overpowering vanilla, and a bit medicinal. This pretty-much masks any supressed ’Bourbon Barrel Oak’ that might (or might not) have been in the batch. Never really get a chance to find anything but a big fake vanilla bean in this beer. Too bad - too much vanilla - can’t finish - bleh! Imaena (259), Portland, Maine, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jul 14, 2008 Bottle 08.’Intense vanilla nose on a medium brown pour. Poorly balanced and the body is thin. The vanilla hijacks this beer all the way to candy town. gameface23 (131), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 8, 2008 I had this beer on tap and I loved it. Then, I bought a six pack and I hated it. You really need to get it on tap. The flavors don’t translate in a bottle. It has very similar characteristics to cream soda. I enjoyed the strong vanilla flavor. Bigmmartin (367), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Bottle showed up in my fridge one day and I have no idea how or why it got there. But, after awhile of looking at it, you convince yourself to give it a shot. It’s basically a bud light with a dark amber color and a little more flavor (however awkward of a flavor it may be). subcell (95), Portsmouth, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 30, 2008 This beer has a nice amber color and an excellent sweet vanilla aroma. On tap it is pretty good but in the bottle tasted like I was drinking vanilla extract. If you find it on tap... go with it but avoid bottles unless you really, really like vanilla! | 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Jun 10, 2008 This tastes too much like vanilla. I hardly recognized it as a beer, and I pounded the last five in the six-pack just to get rid of them. I will not buy this again. twindog (85), Hampstead, Maryland, USA
