You can smell the vanilla in it, but it’s faint compared to the vanilla taste you get in the beer. Nice color to the beer. It definitely is not as bad as the overall percentile suggests. You may not love it, but it’s a decent brew. Aroma is kind of weak, which makes the amount of flavor even more surprising. Not going to hate it for being an AB product, you know what... it was good. dlihcsnatas (50), Texas, USA

The taste is that of malts and vanilla. WIth the thickness and that wonderfull vanilla flavor this one goes great with warming up next to a fire on a cold winter night. Last winter I purchased as much as I could get my hands on and hope to fill my refridgerator next winter. cking (1019), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 13, 2008 Born on 10/19/07, the nearly 7 months in the bottle may have done this beer some good as it came off as nicely blended and aged. A familiar yet strange aroma of bread, vanilla, and milk with a faint sour tinge. Light amber pour with a thin swirling head and spots of lacing. Mellow and creamy on the palate with a pleasant finish and good aftertaste. Pretty good in the flavor department. Doughy malt and sugar cookies are tasted. The vanilla is well integrated, comes off as just the right amount. A sweet beer with some holiday spiciness. Calm and enjoyable. I may seek this one out for next year’s release to try it fresh. Ya know i thought this was real good one night when i was drunk, i got marshmellow, caramel, bourbon, chocolate. But the next time i realized it was a poor attempt at chocolate bourbon beer. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | May 2, 2008 Bottle: Pour a clear orange with a weak bubbly off white head. Immense vanilla aroma. Sweet vanilla extract with only a hint of caramel. Thin, fizzy body. Papery flavor, and much less sweet than the aroma suggests. Hints of vanilla; it’s basically a vanilla seltzer. Pretty bad. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 28, 2008 12 oz bottle born on 10/19/07: Bright cherry and amber pour with a thin white head. The nose is sugary sweet with notes of cherry and vanilla. A nice dose of sweet chocolate and burnt caramel follow up the fruit. Thin, lagerish body. Starts sweet and ends really sweet. A moderate dose of gooey caramel starts things off, with lighter notes of candied cherries. The finish is straight Sugar Babies. Interesting take for AB, but a beefier base beer would definitely offset the excessive sweetness. phishpond417 (1935), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 21, 2008 A tad sweet for its style in my opinion, and noticeably unbalanced. It poured a bright reddish copper colour with a large fluffy almond coloured head. Aroma is slightly nutty and sweet, with a light, well carbonated off sweet taste.
