Commercial Description:
During even the coldest of weather, warm up to the smooth, robust taste of our Winter’s Bourbon Cask Ale. Full of rich aromas that you find in the winter months, hints of vanilla and flavorful hops, this is a beer that is great for pouring into a large tulip glass and enjoying with friends around a fireplace.

Ummm, I think thanks for sharing Yaniv! A darker golden clearish color with an offwhite head. GIANT sweet caramel nose. A bit one dimensional, but some toffee and vanilla seem to be thinly disguised. No real maltiness. Thin body, but the carbonation yields some creaminess. Disgustingly sweet flavor. Tastes like it smells, sort of. More like vanilla flavored chemicals. With some sort of vegetal aftertastes... DMS maybe? You’ve got to do a bit better than this Anheuser-Busch!

Our rating seems much higher than most here, but we found this to be a very refreshing and quite tasty brew. It pours from the bottle a nice orange-amber color with the thin head and wateriness you’d expect in an A-B product. It has a very nice, appetizing aroma of spice and vanilla. Agree with others that the "bourbon" is not discernible at all. It was the balance of the flavors worked for us -- we just liked it. Maybe it’s a case, for us at least, where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts because, even with the negatives, we really enjoyed this beer and will buy it again next season.

Nice amber color with a head that dissipates too quickly. Sweet malty smell and sweet but watery taste. Not a bad beer, but would probably never buy again.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a nice amber color, and the head dissipates quickly. Flavor: Sweet, but the bourbon flavor barely comes through. I’ve tried other beers that were aged in bourbon barrels, and they were much better.

(draught) Dark amber, very little head. Slightly sweet aroma. Flavor was sweetish malt, definite bourbon and some hints of oak. Only a little vanilla. No great, but decent. I wonder what it would score in a blind taste test if people didn’t know it was an A-B product?

A great attempt at micro-quality from the "King of Beers," but still falls short on many counts. I like the vanilla touch, but there is next to no bourbon-barrel taste. Pumpkin is there, as well as some cloves and other spices. The main problem I have is that each flavor stands out individually, rather than as a continuum. First you taste one thing, then all of a sudden a second thing, instead of transitioning smoothly between flavors. That said, the beer was still crisp, dry and refreshing after a day out skiing on powder, so I’ll remember it.

Had this in STL served on draft. Had a miserable big bubbled head and a medium amber color with some unnerving cloudiness. Had a very sweet artificial aroma and an even more artificial sweet taste, not malty, more like a cream soda. I could only take two sips.

Had this on tap at Downtown Disney, Walt Disney World around Christmas 2007. Started ok, had a nice earthy malt with a sweet, caramel essence to it. Turned into a mess as it warmed. Too thin and sweet. Wierd vegetable notes with some vanilla and moss(?).
