Pours crystal clear red-orange amber with an orange-ish abundant head that dissipates fairly quickly. No or very little hint of vanilla in the aroma and certainly no bourbon. It really tastes like a watered down, slightly flavored ale. Half way through, it’s nearly undrinkable. Shoulda bought a single instead of a six pack. JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 27, 2007 A pretty bland, dark amber ale with a sticky-sweet vanilla flavor. The vanilla is too much, and the beer gets cloying about halfway through. Neither bourbon nor oak have any measurable effect on the flavor. A little bit insulting. | 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 24, 2007 Bartender at Appleby’s poured me a tumbler to sample with the promise that it was a "pretty good beer". Didn’t know it was A-B and it wouldn’t have mattered. It had a sort of bourbon-like quality, it also had a artificial vanilla and paper-like quality as well. Thin body and a little sticky too. I ended up ordering a Guiness instead. I think I chose wisely. ShawnMalloy (119), Auburn, Massachusetts, USA

Tastes like a Budweiser. Leaves that ugly feeling on your pallet. Must be a Budweiser in a fancy bottle. Is a Budweiser in a fancy bottle. Slightly better than a Budweiser. This is actually drinkable. An easy pounder without getting sick. dkazuk (247), winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Smells mainly of alcohol and bourbon I suppose, though I have never tasted it. Strong roasted malt presence as well. Light and thin on the tongue and well carbonated. Tastes of wood and creamy malts with a small amount of alcohol. Finishes sweet and sticky. A little one sided but not too bad. crazyvin (1248), New York, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Meh. a sample from tap. A nice amber hue with a thin tan head which had nice lacing. Aroma was mainly of corn and some bourbon, flavor was similar. Nothing too exciting, but not terrible either. Very lacking though. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Dec 21, 2007 12oz bottle courtesy of Degarth. Figured this thing wasn’t getting any better. It’s already been in my fridge for some time, and I’m tired of seeing it, so here we go. Pours out an amber color with a very small off white head. Disappears immediately, no foam, no bubbles, no lacing. Nose is oxidized to hell, wet cardboard, sour and just pretty damn bad smelling. Heavy artificial vanilla, cheap booze, cardboard and musty oak is pretty much the flavor profile of this thing. Tastes better than it smells though, so there’s something. Heavily astringent, otherwise flat and unexciting on the palate. Finish is mercifully brief, cream soda, vanilla, $5 bourbon and some sourness. Terrible, complete drainpour, as pretty much expected.
