purduebacchus (39), USA Apr 10, 2007 Pours with a thin golden head, tastes like what you would expect from AB, but with a very strong cream soda aftertaste, its quite good if your looking for a beer that tastes like cream soda, but otherwise its bland tripe. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 9, 2007 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a pretty, warm, dark amber golden with a small, yellowish head. Odd, sweetish vanilla aroma. Medium body - perhaps even a bit watery - with a very soft mouthfeel. Odd, artificial, perfumy notes with a hint of vanilla. Bourbon?, not really - and no bitterness either. A strange brew. 260307 Abel (13), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 9, 2007 On tap at RFD in DC. Asked the bartender what it was, but he didn’t know. Should’ve known this would be terrible when I saw it was from St. Louis on the menu. Color was reddish. No smell. Tastes like someone took some sugar and fake vanilla and threw it in some macro lager. That said, I’d rather have the plain old macro lager. Worst beer I’ve ever had I think. 00cobraR (1096), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Apr 5, 2007 Boo this shit sucks. Its a pitiful attempt at making a craft beer, but what else would expect from AB. Id rather drink Bud Light. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA Apr 5, 2007 Amber with Red Hue. Sandy Skin. Little to No Aroma. Very Sweet Tasting Initially. Candy Sugar.. Well Carbonated...Bittersweet Dry Ending. Some Bourbon Notes, but Extremely Diluted and Unwanted. Extremely Thinned Down Version of a Bourbon Beer. Perhaps a Good ’Gateway’ Beer to Get Domestic Beer Lovers to Cross Over Gently. Norton (294), The Fan, Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 2, 2007 Updated: May 2, 2007Bottled. Minimal pep. Minimal head. Obvious vanilla flavoring. Can’t decide if this bourbon barrel aging is fake or not. Hint of cheap bourbon aftertaste. Very drinkable and not really offensive. As it warms, loses all hints of character and becomes kinda nasty, though as all macros seem to do. Please note I did not buy this for myself! LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA Apr 1, 2007 this was pretty good IMO. some carmel and walnut with some oak and lots of vanilla. some molasses. jonwayne4883 (401), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Mar 30, 2007 a very sweet but decent tasting winter brew considering where it came from.
