goldtwins (4078), Nesconset, New York, USA Feb 16, 2007 Poured a just slightly hazed deep amber color with a large off-white head. Malty aroma of toffee and caramel with light vanilla and I guess you can say bourbon. Mostly just malt and vanilla. The flavor was malty with toffee notes and an artificial vanilla taste. Crisp finish with some warmth at the end. TheOrange (405), Kent, Ohio, USA Feb 15, 2007 Light mahogany pour with a very small ring of bubbles that should have been a head. Aroma is of caramelized malts, and clove. Very thin beer, the flavor is overwhelmed by the vanilla flavor. Slower finish with a bit of an aftertaste. Highly carbonated. I won’t be buying this again. IrishBoy (2685), Bakersfield, California, USA Feb 12, 2007 Bonus Bottle from Purchase at Ledgers Berkeley; Nose of vanilla beans and some caramel; rusty red with a small tan head; heavy vanilla flavor, they must of used real beans because it doesn’t have an artificial flavor or nose; a little caramel shows up, but I couldn’t detect any alcohol warmth! I had some really good vanilla porters, but this kind of sucks! But still better than Bud Light! Odeed (1666), Bakersfield, California, USA Feb 12, 2007 (gift from irishboy)orange body with a foamy head that swims to the sides of the glass pretty fast.small webbing from the head.aroma is full of vanilla followed by some spice and caramel malts.flavor is loaded with vanilla and bourbon.followed by a light lager style body.as the person before said in his rating.a thicker body would have helped this beer alot. NJBeerman013 (764), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Feb 10, 2007 Burnt amber in color, a bit thin in body compared to the flavor. Big time vanilla aroma and flavor. I think this would have been much better if they upped the alcohol and made it a bit chunkier in body. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA Feb 8, 2007 Dark clean amber with a small head. Big vanilla aroma. Flavor is also big vanilla. Pretty much takes over any other flavors. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA Feb 7, 2007 Bottle. Brilliant sapphire color with a lasting beige head. Somewhat musty vanilla aroma with some sweet toasted malts. Somewhat fruity aroma as well. Over-the-top vanilla flavor. Tastes like vanilla extract with carbonation. This beer could actually use more sweetness (something I usually won’t say about any beer!) Rather thin mouth feel as well. Slight tobacco notes. Musty finish. haddon90 (1034), Alexandria, Virginia, USA Feb 6, 2007 A different beer. Pours a clear copper color with no head. Definite bourbon and vanilla notes in the nose. A light creamy taste. Hint of vanilla, but you can sense the bourbon as well. Probably not the best bourbon, but it’s there. Not bad for AB, but man, i was hoping for better.
