Decent vanilla taste is ruined by the thin mouthfeel and light tartness. Tastes thrown together in a flavor extract kind of way. $1/12oz Headbanger (1582), Aurora, Illinois, USA

Has a taste of vanilla on the front end followed by bourbon in the middle and a huge caramel finish. Not bad. Jeff0Hull (10), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

I enjoy the Vanilla hint but it doesn’t over power the whole taste. A nice gold amber goes down smooth and is not filling. BeerCommonSewr (67), North Carolina, USA

Aroma: Sweet light malt and some vanilla.
Appearance: Amber in color with a nice off white head that sustained well.
Flavor: I did not read the description before I tasted it and even though the scent hinted at it I was quite surprised at the flavor. At first I thought it was coriander I was tasting but after going back and getting the bottle I realized it was probably the vanilla and bourbon oak melding into this taste. Even though it does not feel right as I feel there must some other spice added that is just difficult to identify. Perhaps it is coriander or ginger. I am simply unsure. It was sweet but not unpleasantly so. I also did not know when I first tasted it that it was an A-B product.
Palate: Very smooth and sweet. Not as full bodied as I had expected in a bourbon cask ale.
Overall: Beer snobs that we are we must begin to look past the brewer and the label. This beer should be rated higher than it is. I enjoyed it. Even if it was sweet and medium bodied. It was different but not unpleasant. I grew up near Milwaukee but even though I cannot say I am a fan of Miller I have a fair amount of disdain for Anhueser-Busch. Growing up where I did however gave me my appreciation for beer in general. All that being said I would drink this beer again as it provides a nice change of pace your ’normal’ rotation. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 6, 2007 Bottle courtesy of my mom, thanks mom! Bought at Bavarian Inn, Frenkenmuth, MI. Copper body is capped only briefly by a mocha fizz, with tiny bubbles. No lace or retention, and a lack of proteins. The head fades to a small ring that lasts for about a minute. The aroma is awash with eucalyptus, spearamint, vanilla extract, and some nutty, woody segments. Flavour profile is on the plus side of sweet caramel malts, but is over-turned by a lot of vanilla, sweet miny candy, bubblegum, sugary malts. The body is strange due do the thin aspects, and it is quite watery on the finish. Funnily enough, it’s a sipper, and pretty tough to drink at even a standard pace. Thanks for the bottle mom! troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 6, 2007 (Bottle) Pours a reddish color with small head. Some vanilla in the aroma, with strong ’cotton-candy’ notes in the taste. Lots of carbonation. Sweet and unbalanced, but not bad if you like cream soda. An interesting brew, but not very good overall. tomxcs (315), Golden, Colorado, USA

Aroma of spices, sweet malts, slight bourbon, and vanilla. The flavor is sweet, vanilla, toast, but lacks any bite. Decent brew.
