Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Mar 4, 2009 Best cough drop I’ve ever had. Clears out your sinus with vanilla out the ass. 6ROW (243), corpus christi, Texas, USA Mar 3, 2009 amber pour with big four finger brown head, aroma of malt (like a brown ale). the taste is of vanilla only (a little over the top). MrBunn (1520), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours a coppery brown with a decent but ephemeral head. Aromas are heavy with caramel and maybe some cinnamon spices with a touch of vanilla. Flavor is fairly sweet malt with an artificial bourbon taste mixed. Vanilla is present too, but it doesn’t fit in very well. This is a little watery and the elements don’t come together to make something better. topherh (878), Kearney, Missouri, USA Feb 3, 2009 Pours amber with a one finger off white head. Aroma a little vanilla, sweet malt. Flavor is caramel, vanilla, and some toasted marshmallow. Better than I expected. Birdiebeagle (777), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 2, 2009 Draft Pours a dark amber with an off white head. Has a nice aroma which is mostly vanilla and some carmels. Taste also had a vanilla hint to it. Not a bad beer it just takes some getting used to. obxdude10 (1546), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 27, 2009 This beer pours a dark ruby red color with a very minimal off-white head. The aroma contained hints of caramel, vanilla and a slight hint of flowery hops. The flavors were of caramel malt, a touch of vanilla and sweet berries, with a just a touch of hoppiness. The body, though, was very lacking. It was almost like drinking water. There seemed to be no carbonation or texture at all. The finish was a little sour, with more tones of vanilla and caramel malt. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jan 27, 2009 12 oz bottle. Poured a clear dark amber color with a one finger off white head. The aroma was caramel malt and a bit of vanilla. The flavor was caramel malt with a little bit of hops. After the beer got warm, the vanilla appeared in the flavor. RaginCajun (284), Dallas, Texas, USA Jan 26, 2009 Weak, slightly spicy aroma. The appearance is very appalling; the use of a foaming agent is evident in the massive bubbles that form on the side of the glass. Little to no head after the coarse, fake foam dies down. Surprisingly deep nose with a nice spiciness to complement the malt profile. Unfortunately, the AB chemicals show up on the finish as it grinds against the palate with an extreme metallic feeling. Nice try, AB, with attempting a rich tasting beer, but your macro-brewing ways are clearly evident in this sub-par beer. This is clearly a brew designed by a sophisticated brewer, but has also clearly skipped the steps required to make a solid brew. Maybe if they spend some more time on this one, they would have something going on.
