Commercial Description:
During even the coldest of weather, warm up to the smooth, robust taste of our Winter’s Bourbon Cask Ale. Full of rich aromas that you find in the winter months, hints of vanilla and flavorful hops, this is a beer that is great for pouring into a large tulip glass and enjoying with friends around a fireplace.

I bought this while intoxicated, and in my haze i thought it looked like a tasty micro winter craft. It tasted like vanilla and booze to me and was not tasty. realizing that is is made by AB is not good either. i still have 5 left, so i will have to pawn them off on xmas visitors!

Bottle. Head dimishes pretty quickly leaving only a brown body. Flavor is nothing but vanilla extract and caramel. A really horrid experience. Who says you need more than an ounce to rate a beer?

12 oz bottle. Clear amber with a beige head. Sweet caramel and vanilla nose, light sweet bourbon notes. Smells kinda like one of those caramel candies with the white sugar center. Flavor is on the sweet side, vanilla and more mild sweet bourbon. Thin soda-like body. Vanilla really seems to take over in the finish. Weak flavor dooms what just might have been a fair beer.

Pure rubbish. Got this at O’Charley’s, on tap. Poured a lightish amber color, with a fairly tall head. Smelled of sweetened bourbon and vanilla, as mentioned. Taste is also as mentioned, very very sweet. Vanilla + Bourbon + Sugar = Nasty. Honestly the first taste was alright, but each one afterewards was hard to bear. Couldn’t even finish it.

Sweet vanilla yuck. I was expecting a dark beer, but this is Pale Ale color. Cream Soda.

Bottle from Pat’s. Light coppery color with some vanilla, oak, and malt aromas and flavors, but the body is rather bland, and the complexity and balance are way off. The vanilla seemed to show more as it warmed, but overall this one doesn’t work for me. Still, credit must be given for trying, but no cigar, Augie.

Draft: Clear copperish color with a smaller off-white head. Virtually no aroma other than a malty sweetness and some hints of vanilla. Taste is more sweeter with vanilla and malt, hints of bitter. Thin body and not much character.

Smells like a Micro.. Pours and tastes like a macro.. Plain and simple.. This is only slightly thicker than their budweiser brand, though..
