not the best winter beer in the world, but coming from michelob its actually pretty good in my opinion. couldve had a tad less vanilla and a tad more bourbon for my taste, but its still a good beer.

12 oz bottle. Simply put, this tastes like Killians with a bit of vanilla and just a trace of bourbon. I guess this might be a suitable winter beer for the Yuengling crowd, but it doesnt do anything for me.

Orange coppery in color, with a thin head. An immediate pleasing vanilla aroma hits the nose. Definite vanilla flavor with little to no real hops presence. Overall its a nice sipping brew.

Always a bit too sweet, it has some nice things happening though. The bourbon comes through and so does the vanilla, the latter overpowering the entire flavor. A little too sticky sweet. Smells nice, sort of like bourbon and vanilla. Palate is a little bit watery. A guy at a beer store told me he thought it tasted like when you leave a jack and coke out overnight and the ice melts.... that is not completely off base.

Bottle. Pours clear red with a large frothy white head that deminishes quickly. Smells a little spicy and malty sweet. Tastes like aloit of toffee and very sweet. Some hints of cinnamin. Has a little bit of cask aged flavor. Pretty good beer.

Bottle. Pours clear orange amber with a off-white head. Vanilla toffee nose. Body and carbonation tending to light. Vanilla toffee taste. Just a guess from the faint taste hints, but it seems like this beer might have spent the better part of an afternoon in a bourbon barrel. I’m not sure if that qualifies as barrel-aged.

AROMA Not a lot here. Some malt and vanilla and a little oak but all subdued. No hops noticed. APPEARANCE The color was a very nice Golden copper with no cloudiness. The head was offwhite about 1 cm but dissipated quickly with no lacing at all. FLAVOR Candy sugar sweetness noticed first with some of the malt and vanilla following. Some of the woodiness of the cask could be picked out but it did not stand out. No hop flavor or bitterness at all. Overall a bit watery and thin. Almost like it was over-filtered. PALATE Texture was decent and carbonation was good. OVERALL IMPRESSION There was nothing really offensive with this beer but it was just lacking overall. I have no problem drinking another, but Ive had better.
