On tap at Barleys. The pour is a see through golden brown. Tangy vanilla scent from the glass, but not a lot of aroma overall. Medium palate. The flavor starts off with vanilla and some roasted malt. It is a littel watery and has no real bourbon flavors to speak of. However, it is not a terrible beer at all--and I will agree with Metalhead’s comments below that this is better than most of the stuff rolling out of Sam Adams brewery. Caramel malt, vanilla and bourbon in the aroma and flavor. A touch of hops on the finish. Reminds me of a Michelob Amber Bock with some artificial bourbon and vanilla flavors added. Nothing great, but among the better AB products. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Jun 15, 2007 Saw this stuff all over the bars I visited through-out the winter, especially the tap handles. A medium dark colored beer typical head for a macro. A subdued aroma of weakened holiday spices. Taste was below average, a not so secure watering hole. Not worth the advertising dollars. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA

The beer looks nice in the glass, kudos! The aroma is ridiculously contrived and the flavor is an over the top fabrication! Smells and taste like “bananas foster” vanilla extract garbage. The palate is thin and the finish tastes like a cheap McDonalds dessert.

Clear, dark reddish brown pour with a lacy head, a very mild chocolatey nose with a little bit of malt, the flavor is overwhelmingly vanilla extract, a biting, carbonated mouthfeel, and a strong, alcoholic finish. Pretty decent! Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Dec 5, 2007 Updated: Dec 6, 2007Pours a sparkling clear orange-amber with a frothy, beige head that diminishes. The nose is candy-sweet with notes of caramel malt, light vanilla and a hint of faint bourbon. There is an odd plastic-like note looming in the background as well. Light bodied with fine carbonation and an almost harsh, astringent finish. The flavor is an astringent combination of a rather unpleasant bourbon/plastic note combined with a vanilla-filled caramel candy chew. Overall, this one was pretty much a train wreck for me. Tolerable while it sat on my tongue, it became a just awful at the swallow. Thankfully that flavor didn’t linger long, but it was bad enough that the rest of the bottle went down the drain. dolemike1 (1129), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 10, 2006 Light vanilla/bourbon aroma, some vanilla in the flavor, but awfully watery and otherwise uninteresting. Could use some more aging in the bourbon casks. ericandersnavy (1127), crossroads, Texas, USA
