Like previous raters have said, this ain’t nothing special, but let’s consider from where it was spawned. It’s better than just about any AB product I’ve ever tried. Served way too cold to start with so it had to sit for a while. Looks just like Amber Bock, but maybe a bit lighter in color but not much. Very small whitish head. Nose is sweet malt, a strong vanilla scent. Thin malts, some vanilla in the flavor too with the slightest hint of a bourbony flavor. Hey, this isn’t offensive, it’s just that what is there isn’t enough. Too thinned out for my liking...but like I said it’s better than any of the other crap on tap at the moment. djd07 (741), Houston, Texas, USA

I did not get too much on the nose, a slight vanilla note but not that much. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste was a watery malt with a faint vanilla finish. Not much going on with this one. | 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 3/20 | Nov 26, 2006 Yuck, this is going to give craft beer a bad name. People wii buy this thinking it’s a craft beer and not like it. Pours a nice amber with a million fizzy bubbles racing, and the fastest dissipating head ever. Aroma is corny and sweet. Flavor is sharp tang, with a sweet and sour vanilla finish. Thanks AB, real nice. jhumphries69 (729), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 17, 2006 The beer pours a deep golden amber with a thin off-white head. The aroma had some sweet malts and a conspicuous holiday aroma that reminds one of candied hazelnuts. The flavor starts off sweet, nutty, and strong with vanilla. The middle of the beer provides more vanilla but slight hints of hops. The beer finishes medium in body. The mouthfeel is medium in body also. Overall, an okay beer but could use more flavor. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Pours dark copper with a thin white head that has poor retention. Aroma is mostly vanilla, some nut and spice character, but mostly overwhelmed by vanilla. Flavor is huge dose of sweet vanilla up front light spices, everything else is pretty washed over by the vanilla - toasted nuts and sugary sweetness, there is a touch of earthy wood, seems like maple as much as oak. Palate is thin and fairly neutral throughout with a medium carbonation level. This stuff isn’t too bad, not something that I would buy on a regular basis, but somehow they fit a lot of vanilla in there without it becoming too offensive. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 8, 2007 Pours a plain amber brown. Smells of sweet vanilla and scotch. The flavor is plain vanilla that is sickening sweet. It finishes with more of a vanilla bean flavor. Aggie80 (708), Michigan, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 19, 2007 Reddish pour with no head or lacing. The color is an artificially caramel. Vanilla predominates in the flavor, a thick mouthfeel with some bourbon notes in the aftertaste.
