Commercial Description:
During even the coldest of weather, warm up to the smooth, robust taste of our Winter’s Bourbon Cask Ale. Full of rich aromas that you find in the winter months, hints of vanilla and flavorful hops, this is a beer that is great for pouring into a large tulip glass and enjoying with friends around a fireplace.

Surprisingly good brew from AB. A tad on the sweet side but with a moderately complex palate of vanilla and smoke. The syrupy aftertaste reminds me more of a soda than a brew, but a hell of a lot better than most macrobrewed shlock.

Pours a deep yet clear copper color with a nice growing foaming head that quickly dissipates. Very effervescent in appearance with a musky earthy aroma. Sour, woody, apple flavor, with a bitter vanilla undertone; dry & grassy. Would probably get more satisfaction by opening the cupboard above the stove and chewing on a bunch of herbs, spices and them vanilla beans mom got you from her trip to mexico.

From a twelve ounce bottle purchased at "Krogers" - This one pours an amber lbrew with a vanilla-malt aroma and a tall. long-lasting white head. Tastewise, this beer is heavy on the vanilla side with the bourbon-charred oak chip taste being very in the background. An interesting, but somewhat thin, brew.

From a twelve ounce bottle purchased at "Keller’s IGA" in Cincinnati, Ohio - Although I absolutely HATE giving A-B any of my money, I could only purchase a six-pack of these to sample (no singles), so I did so... and regretted it (especially since "Goose Island Oatmeal Stout" was next to it on the shelf and two dollars cheaper!). On to the review... this one pours an amger, well. bourbon colored liquid with a smoked marshmallow malt smell and a small white head of foam. Tastewise, it’s a sugary, vanilla-boubon taste that’s really lacking body for a cask beer! Not great, but not as terrible as Bud!

From bottle. Pours a golden orange with tan head. Nose is sweet fruits and vanilla. Lots of vanilla in the flavor, smooth palate with lingering vanilla in the finish. Nice to see one of the big ones trying something like this.

...I was surprised when I got this cheap stuff at the jiffy. It had nice vanilla notes, with the bourbon finish. I was also surprised that it was AB, since everything else they produce is basically undrinkable. Could be better, but not as bad as it could be.

One of the top 5 worst beers I have ever had. It tastes exactly like what you might expect from a macro brew trying to create-- on the cheap, that is-- a micro-brew: imagine a glass of Budweiser being stirred by a stick of vanilla. Simply awful. The color is a dark amber, but there is nothing in the flavor. I bought a six pack of this stuff; fortunately I have friends that tolerate these types of beer.

12 oz bottle pours a nice cherry amber color with almost no head. Aroma is nice, but lacking. Some licorice sweet malt and what I would call a fake alcohol aroma. Flavor is much of the same some vanilla and burbon, but poorly done. Like they found some syrup that tastes a little like burbon and put it there. Medium body, a little thin maybe. Not terrible, but I would only have this when nothing much else is available (they do have it at Tucson Ice Cat Hockey games so I will have it there).

Absolutely awful. Nothing about this offering was pleasing. The aroma was of hand soap and the taste left in my mouth was much the same. I’m glad I only sampled this and didnt have to drink an entire pint.
