Could not taste any bourbon in this, which I expected from the name, although maybe it was just because it was served way to cold and in a frosty mug at a local chain establishment. Best thing to say is at least AB is trying. mspindler (351), Alta Loma, California, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 10, 2009 Another one DuffmanSW was trying to get rid of. 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear reddish copper, no head. Aroma is cotton candy and vanilla jellybeans. Tastes like vanilla extract and old stale candy. Some sourness is the only thing that really makes this resemble beer. Thin bodied. Might not be bad over a scoop of ice cream, but I can easily say this will be my first and last bottle. arventresca (343), Greenville, North Carolina, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark amber with white head. Aroma of actual vanilla with a hint of caramel. Taste is pretty bland for a winter ale, but considering it is A-B it is a winner. Probably never buy it again unless it is the best choice on tap, but thanks for a decent effort. llcooldave (337), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Orange coppery in color, with a thin head. An immediate pleasing vanilla aroma hits the nose. Definite vanilla flavor with little to no real hops presence. Overall its a nice sipping brew. NicerInPerson (337), North of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Mar 13, 2007 The aroma was banana and caramel with an extremely strong vanilla influence. The vanilla presence was sickly sweet in the nasal passaged. Caramel malt was present as was a strong fruity and estery presence. The beer poured crystal clear amber with an off-white head that rose well and fell slowly to lace the glass. The flavor was caramel and toffee with an odd presence of vanilla and perhaps a hint of oak. The flavor had some chocolate and reminded me of Cocoa Puffs in character. The body was medium light and a bit watery. The finish was even with lasting impressions of vanilla and chocolate with caramel. Not a bad beer, but nothing to try to find. 12 ounce bottle. mrant (330), New York, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 5/5 | 6/20 | Dec 6, 2007 Smells of skunky malts with a hint of vanilla. Pours a clear red color with a very very small white head. It tastes...awful. Watery with almost no malt or hop flavor and quickly dominated by a sickly sweet vanilla flavor. The label claims they use whole beans, but I swear its vanilla extract. Gross Grandpa (325), Verona, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 10, 2007 A nice clear amber pour with an off-white head that held up pretty well. It looked good! It was smooth, almost mellow. The first impression was a slight tingling on the tongue. The hint of vanilla was about the same as the hint of bourbon. Together they made a light, pleasant drink. The aftertaste was non-existent. It seemed light for a 6% ABV. I anticipated a lip-smacking, belly warmer and got a refr4eshing drink, nowhere near robust. rampmaster (322), Alden, New York, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Mar 8, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: On top it has a light tan and somewhat fizzy, fast fading head. Its head fades out to nothing quickly and leaves no lacing behind. There is some visible carbonation inside of the rich dark amber colored body with good clarity.
Smell: The aroma is very sweet with deep candy like malt character with a soft touch of vanilla.
Taste/Mouth feel: The flavor has a thin malty character with some candy like sweetness and mild caramel notes as well as a soft touch of vanilla throughout. The finish dries a bit and brings some light woody oak notes. The texture is a little bit on the thin side and the body is fairly light as well. The carbonation comes off very fizzy.
Notes: With this beer I was just not really impressed and I would not recommend it.
