Also a little bit of spice in the background, but just a hint. Not a bad beer, but the flavors sort of fall apart at the end. starfireming (309), Richmond, Virginia, USA

I will have to go with RevHealey here and say: it should be renamed to Vanilla Vanilla Ale. Not good for drinking, may be of some use in cooking. beerchugger (309), Colorado, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Mar 5, 2009 Updated: Apr 17, 2009This tasted very musty and is otherwise indescribably bad. I could taste the vanilla amidst the must. There was minimal malt character combined with some off spice. Maybe some moth balls would help. This was an absolute terrible beer. rugbydude05 (308), Kew Gardens, New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 4, 2010 Pint on tap at local pub. Pours a rusty golden color with minimal head. Little to no carbonation. Aroma is sweet and spicy, kind of like black cherry soda. Taste is sweet and kind of one-dimensional, with little to no hops or malt or resemblance of beer at all. Palate is flat but non-offensive. Nice for a novelty but wouldn’t have more than one. redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 15, 2007 A pretty sweet and malty aroma. Pours a clear deep red in the glass with little-to-no head. Flavor is sweet with vanilla, the slightly higher alcohol content is barely recognizable and there is a little bit of spice from the bourbon. A little cherry flavor, too. Nothing really stands out though, it’s all just mashed together. Better than Beach Bum, not as good as Jack’s Pumpkin Spice.

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 1, 2008 Light amber color with an off white head. Strong vanilla aroma and taste that is a little over powering, mild caramel malt presence but not much else happening. A shame to the bourbon cask ale but once again, props to Michelob for trying. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Feb 22, 2007 Pours amber with tan head. Looks nice in a glass. Flavor is mostly vanilla and bourbon, but not in a good way, finish is slightly spicy. The finish is slightly odd, like artificial wood. The flavors just don’t seem to work together with this one. Even though this was from AB I had high hopes and this disappointed. awaller05 (301), Sharon, Wisconsin, USA

Over all this beer has a really different smell and after taste. I would recommend this only for the rating if you are fishing for ratings.
