Some acidity. Right upfront this brew has a nice vanilla flavor going on. Fairly bitter roasted malty flavor. Finish is a little lacking, but not bad. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 16, 2007 Poured a just slightly hazed deep amber color with a large off-white head. Malty aroma of toffee and caramel with light vanilla and I guess you can say bourbon. Mostly just malt and vanilla. The flavor was malty with toffee notes and an artificial vanilla taste. Crisp finish with some warmth at the end. freekyp (902), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA

The aroma has a prominent vanilla character, but no bourbon, as the bottle might suggest. Lightly toasted caramel malts and a bit of hop bite have their way with your tongue before the beer settles into a strong vanilla finish. Softly carbonated. presario (3001), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 6, 2009 Dark amber. Light head. Araoma of vanilla, alcohol a little funky but pleasant. Grows on you like the flavour which starts a bit muddled with lots of vanilla, caramel and bourbon? Needs a stronger beer base. It is an interesting blend. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 23, 2006 Crystal clear amber color with a decent but quickly dissipating antique lace colored head. Vanilla and pine cone aroma. Vanilla beans and sweet malt dominate the flavor. If there are any hops in this beer, they probably waved the flowers over the boil once or twice. Although there is some mild bitterness after the swallow. This is odd but interesting. I hate to give the Evil Empire credit for anything, but this is a pretty decent effort (at what, I don’t know). tomciccateri (514), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA

Pours a clear Mahogany red with a solid tan head. Oaky, malty aromas. Light-to-medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Early toffee character. Caramel flavor dominates. Sweet flavor balance. Subtly vanilla notes. Very late oak dry finish. rdawson321 (145), USA
