Smells of malty vanilla and caramel. Vanilla and caramel are the dominant flavors. I don’t detect any bourbon. Not a bad beer, though. bhensonb (4383), Woodland, California, USA

Nice amber color with a decent light tan head. Tastes like warm malt and there’s vanilla. Not so sure about the bourbon - it might be 1 flattened cask per million gallons - or not. Nice though. For the price it does not stand up to the majority of artisanal ales, but it’s good stuff. A tiny bit of similarity to AVB Winter Solstice. CaptainCougar (5534), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 30, 2006 Pours a bright transparent copper ruby with a thin, short-lived off-white head. Aroma of slightly sweet malt and some sugary vanilla. Body starts with a touch of malt, butterscotch and some mild oak (without much bourbon) and a drier, earthier finish with vanilla and toasty, nutty flavors. I know it’s made by Anheuser-Busch, but it’s not really that bad. Suttree (2743), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 23, 2006 Clear copper, thin white head. Surprisingly faint aroma of Pepsi Cola. Flavor is vanilla and okra, with a touch of bourbon and cucumber. Surpring that this is an AB product, but questionable execution. On draft at Barley’s, Knoxville. aracauna (2422), Georgia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 8, 2006 They had this on clearance at the Athens Mellow Mushroom for $1 a pint. I couldn’t pass up trying it. It pours a clear brown with a nitro head. Weak aroma. Thin body. There’s not much flavor, although there’s a good bit of vanilla, sugar cookie. Really not all that bad. A bit of wood. Really more of a vanilla blonde ale with a hint of whiskey than what you usually expect from a whiskey barrel beer. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 20, 2005 Had this on tap at the local Buffalo Wild Wings. Served too cold, so I let it warm up for a while. The body was medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma was light and corny with bourbon and vanilla. Actually, this was a pleasant smelling beer. There is also a nice oak note. The taste is vanilla and peaches. There is also some white Karo syrup. This is way too sweet for my taste. I didn’t know this was an Anheuser Busch product. The aroma has a lot of vanilla. Strange flavor; light bourbon and loads of cream soda, or, "pop" as it is correctly called in Minnesota. Light amber color with no head, and on the thin side for palate; but overall not bad. Reid (1092), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 29, 2006 Nice looking ale, amber.clear with a lovelly thick, tight bubbly tan head.
The aroma is however decidely on the weak side, smells like a maltier Bud with a touch of wood.
Definatlly strong vanilla flavours and again a touch of woodiness, maybe just a barest hint of bourbon.
Kinda thin for the style.
Its drinkable but this could have been so much better had they filled up the malts to give a more robust frame for the vanilla.
OK try for A-B.
