The aroma was tangy vanilla and root beer. The flavor was strong artificial vanilla followed by an overwhelming bitterness and a toasted marshmallow undertone. The finish is sour, tangy and bitter. There is some effort here but the beer falls short. Tmoney99 (4743), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 2, 2006 Draft. Poured a clear dark amber with a small creamy white head that diminished quickly but did leave fair lacing. Light roasted malt aroma. Medium body. Light bitter sweet flavor with a short small cask finish. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 29, 2006 Updated: Jan 13, 2007The aroma has a little bourbon but not as much as I had hoped for. There is also caramel malt, a little vanilla, and oak. The appearance is amber with a small head. The flavor has all the elements from the aroma, and like the aroma they are not quite as pronounce as they should be. Still, the favor is unique and good. It is degraded some by an unusual bitterness and a cooked vegetable taste. But, thankfully they too are light. The palate is thin. Gus (29), Chesapeake, Virginia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 5, 2006 A seasonial beer that looked and sounded somewhat interesting. Aroma is all vamilla, color is a copper/orange in appearance. Head starts out thick but quickly dissapates and is thin, with a off white in color. Carbonation is moderate and bubbly throughout the tasting. Flavor is vanilla, not much more i can say. Goes down ok, but leaves a off taste in my mouth. I usually try most seasonals. This is definelty a different style, I personally won’t get this one again, but it is one to be tried if you are into seasonals. ratman197 (3214), Arvada, Colorado, USA

Aromas of carmel, vanilla and a hint of cocoa. Palate was light bodied and smooth. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 2, 2007 Reddish brown color with a nice head that fades fast. Not much aroma, some sourness and a little mellow malt sweetness. Taste a little blanc, not much flavor let alone bourbon. A little vanilla and oak. tronraner (1916), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 12, 2006 Draught (at Barley’s in Knox Vegas). Pours mahogany with dissipating off-white head. The aroma is mild biscuit, German aroma hops, lemon, malt, banana, and yeast. The flavor is, well, interesting. It tastes a little bit like hair conditioner smells. There is some banana (the banana comes out more further through the pint), rice, sesame, and wax in there. The people I was with came to a consensus that it tastes like apple toothpaste; I didn’t really pick that up, but I promised I would put it in my rating, and four people agreed on it, so it has merit, I suppose. I didn’t think of this until I read Suttree’s rating, but there is indeed a weird okra tinge to it. Strange stuff. Not outright offensive, but definitely strange.
