Copper body is capped only briefly by a mocha fizz, with tiny bubbles. No lace or retention, and a lack of proteins. The head fades to a small ring that lasts for about a minute. The aroma is awash with eucalyptus, spearamint, vanilla extract, and some nutty, woody segments. Flavour profile is on the plus side of sweet caramel malts, but is over-turned by a lot of vanilla, sweet miny candy, bubblegum, sugary malts. The body is strange due do the thin aspects, and it is quite watery on the finish. Funnily enough, it’s a sipper, and pretty tough to drink at even a standard pace. Thanks for the bottle mom! | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 2, 2006 it looked nice and it smelled nice but the taste was kind of artificial for what its worth. the the first sip reminded me of A&W cream soda, and while its works for soda pop, its quite unpleasant for a winter beer of this caliber. other taste of spices were appearant yet dissatisfying. still drinkable enough to give a try biznizness (952), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA

Pour was brown with tan head. Nose had some vanilla and caramel, and a distinct LACK of wood. Taste had some vanilla, more like and after thought. Not a good example of a wood aged brew. Really not bad here.
Shared a GI BCS with the old man afterward, knocked him down! GTown (126), New York, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 25, 2006 Aroma was decent. Way too over the top in vanilla flavor. Served too cold for a cask ale. Bourbon flavor was weak. Having said all that, it is a fair effort for AB to try and fill this particular niche. gearbike (418), West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA

Drinkable but to bourbon or cask flavor. Thin and sweet. No wonder no I find out it is a Bush. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Bright, clear coppery--amber, with a small fizzy off-white head. Sweet vaguely oatmeal malt, a little vegetal, with only a whisper of vanilla extract. The taste is very sweet and grainy, buttery, slick, flat and sugary, with a kind of Cap’n Crunch version of oakiness. Meh. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 17, 2006 12 oz bottle. Clear amber with a beige head. Sweet caramel and vanilla nose, light sweet bourbon notes. Smells kinda like one of those caramel candies with the white sugar center. Flavor is on the sweet side, vanilla and more mild sweet bourbon. Thin soda-like body. Vanilla really seems to take over in the finish. Weak flavor dooms what just might have been a fair beer.
