Apr 2, 2007 Updated: May 2, 2007Bottled. Minimal pep. Minimal head. Obvious vanilla flavoring. Can’t decide if this bourbon barrel aging is fake or not. Hint of cheap bourbon aftertaste. Very drinkable and not really offensive. As it warms, loses all hints of character and becomes kinda nasty, though as all macros seem to do. Please note I did not buy this for myself!

Nov 20, 2007 Draft in Oklahoma City. I asked the bartender what this was and who made it. She didn’t know and said it was Winter’s. After a quick search for Winter’s, the snow man tap handle confirmed it was an AB product. Poured amber with a fizzy off white head. Had a decent cotton candy aroma with more candy in the taste with some vanilla. I didn’t taste any bourbon and no oak either. Mostly just a watered down beer.

Jan 13, 2007 Small tan head that settles out quickly, lacing is spotty. Clear, deep amber color. Surprisingly attractive! Nose of vanilla and cherry cough medicine. Body is med/light somewhat creamy. Vanilla extract flavor dominates. No bourbon flavor or oak to really speak of. Maybe a hint of caramel malt. Lightly sweet, candyish flavors of vanilla and cherry. Finish is almost dry, thin and vanilla-y. Luckily i did,nt have to drop a $1.75 on this as a friend from work turned me on to one. Thanks Tommy!

The beer looks nice in the glass, kudos! The aroma is ridiculously contrived and the flavor is an over the top fabrication! Smells and taste like “bananas foster” vanilla extract garbage. The palate is thin and the finish tastes like a cheap McDonalds dessert.

Dec 19, 2006 Bottle. Pours copper with a thin white head. Nose is a little funky, sweet. Taste is of a little vanilla and marshmellow, not much bourbon. Not horrible, but something that I’m not looking forward to the rest of the 6 pack.

Dec 7, 2007 Pretty funky appearance actually. An odd reddish pour with a thin tan head. Vanilla aroma with some alcohol and vegetable in there as well. Highly carbonated, medium-bodied I guess. Strong, sticky sweetness. Caramel. Finish reveals what could be a decent malt presence if it weren’t for all the vanilla and booze. Not very good.

Feb 28, 2007 12 oz bottle, born on 11/10/06. Pours a clear reddish amber with a fine light tan head that leaves some lacing.
The aroma is subtle - sweet vanilla and some tar.
The flavor is pretty subtle as well. It is mostly vanilla with a little bit of a spicy hop finish. It has a strange kind of tarry vegetal aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium and a bit watery.
Overall, an interesting concept for AB, but a little off. It is pretty bland and watery with some off-flavors.

Nov 26, 2007 Mostly clear orange colour with a mini white year. A little bit of oak in the nose, some bitterness. The flavour is light but finishes with a strong oaky bourbon and alcohol burn.
