drismyhero (815), Tacoma, Washington, USA Feb 7, 2005 A brewer’s whim that turned out fantastic. Murky amber color (actually the dry-hopping was so intense I had to get another pour because my first was all sediment) with a creamy head. VERY fresh hop profile, similar to the Bottleworks IPA, probably due to the hopping in the keg itself. There was a definite mustiness to the hops that kind of mellowed out the intense flavor, nice and chalky too. The amber malt is completely washed out however and this tastes more like an Imperial IPA - not to say the amber is gone, it is just not readily in the flavor, it almost acts like a dimmer switch, preventing the IBUs from blinding you. Sludgey towards the bottom of the glass - grain, hops and yeast. Very inventive and very good.
