Dark red, thin beige head. Slightly plasticky malt aroma, similar to some bocks. Taste quite similar, but the maltiness is sweeter, and spicier, a bit cakey. Creamy in places too. Added to that is a very tangy and at first slightly artificial hop taste. Quite lively in the mouth. Some hoppy finish, but to me that was a little astringent.

May 12, 2008 500ml Bottle- Dark brown in colour with red tinges and a tan head. Fruity and malty aroma with some raisins and fruit cake. Fruity taste with raisins, fruit cake and some dates. It is rather bitter and tangy on the tongue at first but this fades quickly. A pleasant but not very strong finish. Not bad, but a little thin. Having said that, I am glad they have brought out a new dark beer and showed more adventure than their larger rivals.
