m4rest88 (126), Beverly Hills, California, USA Sep 21, 2008 Pours with deep golden hue with a fairly large white head that is mostly diminishing.
Aroma is of yeast, bread, and hops. Weird spicy aroma permeating from the glass as well. Some light citrus aroma as well.
Very strange taste.....Initially it is very sweet and tastes like very sweet fruits - dark fruits especially. Strange considering it is not a dark beer. Finish is acidic, spicy and lightly bitter.
Medium to the palate with lively carbonation. A descent beer, but not my favorite Belgian Strong.
RichJ7 (969), Cullman, Alabama, USA Dec 22, 2008 Gold in color, very slight haze and a big, fizzy white head. Aroma of yeast and sweet malt with a floral note or two. Flavor is malt sweetness with the ubiquitous Belgian yeast and a touch of citrus zest. Very active carbonation. Nice lacing. Very enjoyable. BeerandBlues2 (2684), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Dec 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear dark yellow with a rocky white head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt -grain, hay, straw, meal-, average hops -flowers, perfume-, heavy yeast -horse blanket, barnyard- with notes of grape, apple, and pear. Medium bodied, slick texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness and acidity, moderate bitterness. jrob21 (971), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Dec 19, 2008 Bottle back from Nashville a while back. Pours clear yellow orange with a big white sculptural fizzy head. Candy orange aroma with a bit of belgian yeast funk. Decent malt body with some sourness in there. Hops are nice, grassy and the finish is a bit sweet. GodOfThunder (316), Orlando, Florida, USA Dec 15, 2008 Aroma is full of grain and some corriander. Taste is grainy malts with some yeast, pear and herbal flavors. Overall, I am not that impressed with this. Bockyhorsey (2118), Mesa, Arizona, USA Dec 13, 2008 750 ML Bottle. Decent sweet citrus on the nose along with some spice. Golden body with good white head and livly carbinated bubble action in the glass. Flaor has some citrus but the malt is somewhat more dominate along with the spices. A filling brew time for a nap.
