(Bottle, BB 07/08) Pours a murky dark brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, vinous, mustiness, and a bit sour. Flavor of dark fruits and malt with a dry finish.

Fresh, blasting carbonation and head out of the bottle like Miracle Whip. White with brown body. Aroma cross between Coca-cola, some spices and yeast, and regular brew. Alcohol detected. Aggressive carbonation taste but tasty drinkable, like a Rochefort mix of Cinammon and citrus, drop of pepper, bold but a lot of yeast more than the first rate taste of the Rochefort. (33cl bottle) Pours a nice frothy, almond-coloured head with a reddish-brown body. A great peppery, coriander and lemon nose. Really odd for a dubbel not to be more malty, non? The tongue is somewhat medicinal and perhaps sour cherry. Interesting.

Bottled. Dark brown, almost opaque colour, mediumsized brown foamy head. Aroma is peas, caramel and spices. Flavour contains peas, caramel and cooked vegetables. Quite fullbodied, but sadly not very pleasant as to the aroma and flavour.

Dark ruby brown. Sweet malty aroma. Notes of sweet licorice, almonds, and peppers. A well-rounded very enjoyable dubbel. Somewhat thin mouthfeel with a natural licrorice finish.

Lemon, apple, pepper, tannins, honey and lavender along with a bready toffee pudding like malt character in the muddled but engaging aroma. Opaque mahogany body is topped by a large, dense, fine bubbled, fluffy head that recedes slowly to an everlasting cover with lacing that etches traces all over the sides of the glass. Lavender, rose, alcohol, sweet berries and white chocolate in the surprising flavour. Fairly strong bitterness offers interest. Medium body with very engaging, soft bubbled but assertive effervescence. Tulip glass. Just above cellar temperature. Bottle (BB Nov-07, Bièropholie, Aug-06).

Has a nice red/brown color but took a while cause it was so highly carbonated that it poured very foamy. Fruity and sweet up front, some peppery notes eased up some of the sweetness and the finish had a medium dryness. A stronger honey flavor develops in the finish. Nice beer, wish this were available around here, i think it used to be, but seems to be gone now.

330 ml bottle. Dark brown colour with a deep red hue. Head fell down entirely after a little while. Soapy light brown head with big bubbles. Nutty, rasiny, soapy and oxidized aroma. Crisp flavours with red berries and toffee. Lightly sourish mouthfeel. Could it be brettanomyces? It sure feels like it. Somewhat thin, but medium-bodied, and a light acidric aftertaste. No hop character or bitterness to be found. The sample is quite old with a best before date of January 2004, so it is now more than two and a half years beyond that. This probably explains the thinness and the light body.
