A Mes rate: Rather light in colour for a dubbel. Reasonable chunky head that leaves fairly heavy lace and lasts well. Unusual barnyardy nose. Sweet and fruity with a long finish. Not bad.

Bought at ABS drinks. Dark brown with reddish hue and a small off-white head. Aroma of hops and malts, dates is maybe the best description. Alcohol is not hidden. Soft taste and mouthfeel, more bitter finish.

Bottle. Dark brown with large fluffy beige head. Nice lace. Fruit, liqourice, fennel, nicely balanced (not too sweet), dry.

Bottled. Dark ruby. Roasty and lightly almondy. Clean mouthfeel. There’s notes of licorice and sugar, but the flavour is surprisingly neutral. Salty finish.

Dark, reddish, brown with large. steady, tan head. Lots of fruit in the aroma (prunes), with malt and caramel. Quite a carbonated, medium mouthfeel.. Dry, malty, caramel, spicey and alcohol in the taste. Good dubbel.

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark brown with a decent, creamy head. Roasted, malty notes and even some hints of chocolate. Pleasantly dry though, making this a good experience. Short, hoppy finish. 130697

Clear reddish brown. Banana, prunes and almond in the aroma. Clean flavour of dark bready malts, herbs, chocolate and banana. Dry yeasty aftertaste with undertones from banana and blackberries.

Bottle. Malty, slightly hoppy aroma. Very dark brown colour. Big, creamy, stable, light brown head. Not very powerful flavour, but malty and slightly sweet. Burnt and hop aromatic aftertaste. Nice, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a nice, very drinkable dubbel.
