Lemon, apple, pepper, tannins, honey and lavender along with a bready toffee pudding like malt character in the muddled but engaging aroma. Opaque mahogany body is topped by a large, dense, fine bubbled, fluffy head that recedes slowly to an everlasting cover with lacing that etches traces all over the sides of the glass. Lavender, rose, alcohol, sweet berries and white chocolate in the surprising flavour. Fairly strong bitterness offers interest. Medium body with very engaging, soft bubbled but assertive effervescence. Tulip glass. Just above cellar temperature. Bottle (BB Nov-07, Bièropholie, Aug-06).

Sep 5, 2008 Brown with vanishing head. Roasted, licorice, sweet. Light bodied, drinkable but quite simple and unnoticeable.

Aug 27, 2008 Bottle @ Café Gollem. Brown colour, off-white head. Aroma is faint, roasted malts, yeast and dark chocolate. Flavours are the same, bit thin, but very dry, bitter finish. Not nearly as sweet as most dubbels.

Jun 8, 2008 @Blind Tiger-on tap-pours an off white ring and dark brown color. Aroma is mild sweet medium malt, dark fruit. Taste is sweet medium malt, dark fruit, rock candy, some hops bite. Good effervescence.
