Smells like yeast and sugar and a bit of hops. Taste is mild but subtle and good. Sugary, hoppy, sweet, toffee like and just pretty good. mrw1zard (54), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 19, 2008 Very light looking beer when released from it bottle. Almost clear enough to see through. Quite a different taste, not bad however, just not my style. Strong bitter finish to this. ojclark (69), Santa Monica, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 5, 2008 Grapefruity/lemony citric aroma with some apple notes. Cloudy, golden appearance with frothy, short white head. Ample, very fine carbonation coming up through glass. Some lacing. Slightly acidic and peppery. A bit astrigent and dry. Light bitterness. Spicy, complex mixture of flavors. Citric fruity notes, reminiscent of mellow grapefruit juice. Medium-light body. Dry finish. Lingering bitter/sour aftertaste. jason (1623), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Jan 22, 2008 Very rich aroma, unique, and complex, very malty and vaguely wine-like. In contrast to the rich aroma, this beer is extraordinarily light, to the point of being a bit thin. But in spite of the thinness, it is not refreshing, probably because of the spice element to it. I like it though; it’s unlike any other Belgian ale I’ve had. I would recommend sipping this beer; it’s possible to drink it quickly and then you miss a lot of the complexity to the aroma; sipping it slowly allows the aroma to come out and it actually turns out to be interesting. blklab2007 (965), Connecticut, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 13, 2008 bottle poured a light straw in color with a one finger head that melted quickly down, adding the yeast in the bottom did the nose and the taste wonders. light carbination and a nose of yeast, biscuit, light spice, and citrus peel. mouth feel is on the light side with a yeasty wheat first, bits of spice, has a slight sour funk in a nice way, and finishes on the dry side. very drinkable and great for an abbey single. mmmbeer (752), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 12, 2008 Bottle poured into tulip- poured very pale golden yellow, foamy white head that quickly disappeared. Aroma of malt, yeast, and subtle plum (?) note. Hits the mouth with a thin body, sweet and sour notes combined, finish with very slight hops notes and sweetness. This one is kinda all over the place, no neat fit into any category. Pwn3d (1073), Manhattan, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 10, 2008 My partner in crime, JRedmond, described it very well. The pour is incredible, the nose is heavy.. not as the hazy body would suggest. Taste was strikingly similiar to sourdough. This was a let down.
