Gold cloudy appearance with a big white head. Aroma is of apples and pears. Very carbonated. Light but still complex in flavor. It has some similar characteristics of cider or sparkling wine. As far as style, it is somewhere between a golden ale and witbier. It really interesting. Kinda reminds me of Blanche Double from Abbaye des Rocs. Really nice and refreshing. joe1510 (501), Illinois, USA

Witkap-Pater Singel pours a slightly hazed straw golden. A big craggy fluffy three fingers of brilliantly white head formed on the pour and left big sticky lacing as it settled. Very lively carbonation rushes to the head with certain areas exploding toward the surface.
Great aromas come from this brew. Very fruity. Starts off with a pale somewhat biscuity maltiness but ripe fruit jumps around all over the place. Slightly dusty yeastiness up front followed by a fruit salad of peaches, pears, apples and strawberries. Yes, strawberries. I can’t recall running into other beers with a strawberry aroma. Very nice.
Wow! This beer really surprises me. I didn’t expect such huge flavors of ripe dripping fruitiness. The flavor goes hand in hand with the aroma, which is without a doubt a good thing.
Great mouthfeel. Highly carbonated with a less than medium body. Very champagne like presence in the mouth. Finishes super crisp and somewhat dry. The large amount of carbonation tickles the tongue and gives the body that enjoyable frothiness on the backend.
I don’t come across beers this drinkable very often. It’s juicy, thirst quenching, and utterly enjoyable.
This beer is a shock to me. I can’t believe how good it actually is. I was expecting more along the lines of a ho-hum Belgian pale ale. This has the flavors of a great tripel although toned down a little without as much alcohol spiciness. Great beer and one I will seek out again and again.
