Well-carbonated, tart, sour flavor. Dry, spicy, somewhat bitter finish. Elegantly inexpensive. brewblackhole (1374), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Apr 3, 2004 Fruity malt aroma, typical of many of the Belgian Abbeys, cloudy orange amber color, fruit malty taste which quickly goes dry. A little lighter than other Belgian ales. A hot summer's day Belgian refresher JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 26, 2004 Generous white creamy head, mostly lasting, above a clear light gold body. Aroma had a lot going on and was fairly strong: soapy band-aid, lemon, fresh bread / dough, and some brandy sweetness. Flavor is predominently a sour lemon type of thing with some sweetness to take away the harshness. Slightly watery palate and didn't like the sourness of it. slang (399), Columbia, South Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 22, 2004 Updated: Sep 18, 2005 Poured with a chunky white head that hung around for a while. The ale itself was cloudy with heavy yeast percipitation (falling in clumps to the bottom). The nose was very bread-like, from the yeast, but was enjoyable. This beer is sour but managed to not annoy. Cloves and lemons show up at the after party. A very enjoyable session beer.
9/18/05 rerate: this beer was only alright this time. medicine like w/ a spicy linger. Someone help me get this in a Trp.? Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark

Honey and bread malt (L); strange whiskey/oak aroma is very strong and I don't like it. Murky brown body is crowned by a quickly diminishing foamy white head. Moderately sweet throughout with a light bitterness and light acidity in the finish. Medium light body, watery texture, soft carbonation. This beer has a weird rum and coke flavor to it. The bottom line is: I feel sorry for the m if this is what those monks really drink. booyaatribe (453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 25, 2004 This is awesome. Very much resembles a Flemish Sour in terms of finish and tartness, but does not have the same cherry flavors. Extremely refreshing.
