Hazy, summery, yellow-gold body, finely carbonated, and crowned by a wickedly dense, rocky white head that laced well. Spiced up, fresh and oozing with summery citrus fruits in the aroma. Grapefruit, lemons, orange peel, pears and some pale honey. Alcohol is present but wonderfully toned to balance the fruity esters. Very similar in the mouth; spicy and zesty fruits fill the palate well with a dominant showing of soft pears and apples. Underneath is notes of vanilla, cinnamon and vinous alcohol which lead through to the fresh, mildly bitter but short, warming swallow. Body is reasonably light, the carbonation prickly and lively and it bounces across the palate with ease. This is a nice Tripel. One I could see equally suited to a long Winter night, just as well as hot Summer Sundays. Quite nice. (33cL, no date stamp) Miguel (1181), Saint-Ours, Quebec, Canada
