| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Dec 26, 2009 Pours a hazy blonde color with a small, creamy, white head that lasts. Aroma is like a strong white beer aroma. It has citrus and spices, but also a slight alcohol presence. Flavor is a bit strange, it starts of slightly sweet and moderately bitter, but then evolves into nothing. Also a slightly muddy flavor enters the palate. The mouthfeel is quite good with a creamy texture and lively carbonation, but I somehow don’t really like this beer. Fratto (751), Arlington, Texas, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Clouded yellow pour. Smell has skunk out the butt. Taste is metallic and grainy. After it breathes for a bit the skunk tones disappear. Taste is of dirty grain. Bontus (310), Waasmunster, Belgium

Pours hazy wheatbeer-like with a minimalistic head. Yeasty and citric nose, spices. Faint coriander smell and aroma. Bottle might be a flaw but this one had a dull still mouthfeel. Watery texture, short finish. Actually worse than a lot of pilsners. Moderate alcohol percentage for a trippel. Nice light golden transparant color.
Quite a revelation for a tripel. Very drinkable halfonit (480), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 6, 2009 Pours a cloudy apricot orange with a medium white head that recedes slowly. Aroma is definitely fruity and much hoppier than expected. Grapefruity/citrusy aroma. Bitter hops and acidic citrus again in the flavor; very IPA-ish for a tripel. Typical Belgian creaminess/yeastiness isn’t apparent here. Spritzy mouthfeel, bitter finish. Different for a tripel, but nice. Very easy to like this one... Overall, very good.
