A blend of regular Wittekerke, the best Belgian wheat beer, known for its fruity aroma and taste, together with 10% of the purest Raspberry fruit, and a dash of the Petrus Aged Pale ale, the original mother beer that is aged in oak for up to 3 years. This combination is made in heaven, beer-heaven at the Bavik brewery in Belgium.

Two things pop out at me right away. The label says "The fruity pink beer" and it contains "aspartame". So, a fruity diet pink beer?

I tried this ’beer’ on May 29, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a reddish pink colour with a thin white head that stuck around. The aroma was sour raspberries and grainy malt. The mouthfeel was medium bodied and hjighly carbonated. The flavour was sugary sweet. It tasted very good, but not beer-like. More like what Canadians call a ’Cooler’

Messy fructose sweetness, very wrong Aspartame soapiness, extracted-raspberry that shows strong seed, and the Petrus Aged Pale trying to rescue itall of this on the finish. What a horrible train wreck hat calls itself ’beer’. You Belgian chicks should really forget Aspartame beers and get your ass to the gym. This is not tolerable, it is disgusting despite the raspberry and aged Petrus ale whixh really do try to help it. F-ck you Bavik for putting cancer-causing ASPARTAME in my beer!!!

250 mL bottle. (bb 16/01/10). Cloudy pink-orange with a small pinkish head. Strong aroma of wheat, sweet raspberries, powdered sugar, and wet hay. Flavour is . . . wow . . . unwholesomely sweet. Lots of raspberry, but lots of sugar. Not tart enough by far. And the sweetness sticks to your mouth and won’t go away. Totally unnecessary. Another swing-and-a-miss by the LCBO.

A clear pink colored beer with a thick white/pink head. The aroma is predominating by artificial fruity sweet. Notes of raspberries. The taste is also very sweet, sticky and watery. There is almost no aftertaste.

250 ml can thanks to footbalm, bought somewhere in Boise. Pours a clear pink-amber color with a decent medium foamy head. The aroma is full of sugary sweet fruit and berries. The flavor is mostly berries and lots of sweetness. Lightly sour as well. Frankly, not horrible but a gimic.

8.4 ounce can, energy drink-style can featuring the truck mudflap girl and packed with aspartame. Thanks (I think) to kkipple for this one. Appearance: Pours a very cloudy, pinkish-peach body with a very thin white head. Smell: Tart-scented, faux raspberry nose with some indistinct hints of wheat. Taste: Sharp, tart raspberry flavoring and a touch of tangy wheat sweetened with a couple packets of Equal. Lovely. No real hop character or bitterness. Flavor of ground up Sweet Tarts candy on the finish. Bleh! Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-high carbonation. Drinkability: Not recommended. The production of this beer was a very bad decision.

8.4 ounce can from the Libation Station in Johnson City, TN. Pours a pinkish orange color with a thin head. Poor retention and lacing. Aroma is tart with notes of bread, yeast and raspberries. Taste is tart raspberries with some yeasty bread notes along with some cheesiness. Medium bodied. Meh.

25 cL can from Westchester Liquors. Nose of wheat, yeast, and raspberries. Reddish yellow with a big glass lacing white head. Flavor was raspberries, yeastiness, a sweet touch, and a tiny bit of funkiness. Not a KRE but OK!
