Moderate haze. Aroma waxy and honeyish. None of the cereally sweetness of the standard Wittekerke, but some smoke, malt and honey. A bit medicinal and antiseptic-tasting. No real witbier character, it’s more like a Barbar shandy. Prefer it without the honey.

33 cL bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours almost clear yellow with a lacing white head. Light yeasty note with a mild hoppy note inbetween. Flavour is slight soapy with a note of hops and a milder note of spices. Finish is mild bitter with a lingering spice note.

Bit average. Cloudy yellow, smells a bit of vinegar and cider, not a good thing. Slight fruity smell but overall smells pretty ropey. Like some stuff I used to rub on my legs as a kid on a saturday morning playing football. I forget why. I was a heterosexual. Gone flat very quick.

Bottled. Hazy yellow colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is bread, fruits, some hops and wheat. Flavour is wheat, fruity, bready and slightly spiced and vegetably.

(Bottled@Kerstbierfestival 2007, Essen) Hazy yellow-golden with a small, fading head. Wheaty, acidic aroma with lemon and hints of honey. Grassy-wheaty flavor with some acidic sourness. Pale-malty flavor with some sourness - like a mix of normal Wittekerke and De Troch Lambic - with the sugar removed. Light to medium body with lowish carbonation. Average and quite boring in every sense.

Bottle Kerstbierfestival 2007: Poured a hazy yellow with white head. The aroma was citrus with a wheatie cereal. The taste was bitter and tingled of alcohol, but overall it was blah!

A Sim rate (25cl bottle from Utobeer): Smells overwhelmingly alcoholic, like the kind you rub on injuries. Appearance of cloudy champagne with no head. The taste is not quite as alcoholic as the aroma but pretty bland. Cant even pick anything out. Watery and not very impressive.
