satan165 (207), River Grove, Illinois, USA Sep 3, 2008 12oz can poured to hoegaarten tumbler. garage sale yeast. smells like it too. WAY too cloudy. makes me wonder if a big corporate entity wanted to make a beer that was naturally cloudy, how many cheap options they would have to make a beer artificially cloudy. nose is weak, next to zero yeast and just a bit of lemon. a taste is of strong lemon and little else.body is ultra thin and very lightly carbonated. i can deal with carbonation level but a wit should be slightly substantial due to the solids floating around in here. maybe the monosodium gluteamate they used instead of yeast to make it cloudy doesnt provide a real body. hoegaarten is better then this, and more available and about the same price. havent had many bluemoods but i dare say that might be even better, or at least similar.
Skyview (3143), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jan 7, 2009 Sampled from 11.2-oz can at friend’s party. Pours a semi-hazed golden pale brew with a thin white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film. Aroma of lemon zest, a hint of golden grain malt with wheat, some mild earthy herbs and a touch of corn. Taste is light to medium bodied with flavors of golden grain malt, some lemon and lemon zest with some corn character. Finish is semi-sweet, some extra carbonation compared to most other witbiers with a short lives lemon zest aftertaste. Missing the typical Belgian yeast, corinader but still drinkable. thornecb (1291), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Jan 1, 2009 Pours a pale hazy grapefruit into a tumbler.
