Fin (2348), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Dec 15, 2007 Cask at The Woolpack, Banbury, 15-12-07 Dark brown beer with off-white head. Taste is initially quite fruity, surprisingly so, but there was plenty of roasted malt and the seasonal spices were there but not in a big way. Whilst not that big in the alcohol stakes I definitely felt that I was drinking a pokey beer! Pub (4103), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Dec 30, 2005 Cask conditioned at The Norman Knight, Whichford, Warks.Dark chestnut colour with pale head. Ahhh now this is a winter warmer, big smooth beer, silky on the tongue with a dark roasted coffee background. There are heavily roasted chocolate malts and a sweetish mulled wine type flavour. This is all livened up with a delicate foreground hoppy, grassy flavour. Very enjoyable, where is the Yuletide fire then?
