Pours a clear dark brown with a beatiful creamy white head. Good retention and lacing. Week aroma of sweet malts. Flavor is malty, but not as noticably sweet as many brown ales. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel and clean finish. A little overly carbonated, but a nice beer.

Nov 8, 2009 Csak at Churchkey, menu said "with coffee beans", but I didn’t really detect that. Pours a transparent copper amber with a small, clingy-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet lightly toasty caramel malt and some nutty character. Starts with decent fullness and light caramel and earthy nutty sweetness with a drier English hoppy balance before a toasty, thin, but smooth finish. A pretty decent brown ale.

Nov 4, 2009 Cask at Churchkey. Muddy chestnut color with very scant bubbles and no lacing. Aroma of untreated pine and caramel. Decent malt flavor, but could use just a touch more hops. Fairly thin body. Not much finish.

Nov 4, 2009 mild nutty aroma of hints of brown sugar and cereal. lightly hopped with a more red than "deep amber" colour. mostly diminishing white head. thickness appropriate for a brown ale. initially slightly sweet finishing with a moderate bitterness.

Oct 17, 2009 Glassy dark red (not really brown). Big foamy head. Clear but looks a bit thick. Some minor carbonation. Looks nice. Surprisingly good lace.
Smell is a decent sweet brown sugar, but with a hint of chlorine. Some bitter malt, more than most browns. Not bad.
Has a strong brown sugary sweet taste. Also has a metallic quality. Malt is a little bitter, somewhat burnt. Tastes like drinking out of a can. Not at all unpleasant, but odd; somehow lacking.
Wet but a tad ashy. Kinda bubbly. Surprisingly competent overall for an organic. Different.

Oct 4, 2009 this has a really gross, stinky, earthy flavor. it’s naturalness tastes unnatural to the style. like it’s a brown because it’s so "organic" not because of brown malts or brown sugar. Gross. Bottle at Whole Foods, Miami Beach.

Sep 16, 2009 From a bottle poured brown with a fair amount of head. Nice malty flavor with a quick bitter finish.
