| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Poured from a 12oz bottle it is a beautiful rich dark almost black color, with a thin head. The smell is of roasted coffee, and once i tasted it you taste coffee with a hint of what i think is oyster. The first taste is flat but the finish is on the carbonated side. Over all a nice stout, but i don’t think i could handle more then 3-5 pints of it.. LooseCannon (936), Norfolk, Virginia, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 4, 2009 The aroma was quite good, lovely dark roasted coffee and hearty breads. But the nice flavor is compromised by an unrelenting carbonation and thin mouth. If it was a creamy, smooth drinker it would be great. As it was, only so so. bhops (334), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 25, 2009 On tap. Pretty underwhelmed by it. NIce pour, a see-through dark brown with a frothy tan head. Smell is delicious - someone below described it as fresh baked goods, and I like that description as well. Unfortunately, I thought the smell was the best thing about it. It came off as very watery, to me. Not as thick or creamy as I’d hoped. Also, the aftertaste was just meh. When you first take a sip, you get a nice taste, roasty, some oatmeal. But it just dies and goes down with very little stout taste.
