17thfloor (868), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 7, 2008 Pours light straw colored with a thin frothy white head. Overly spiced, orange peel and coriander aroma, some creamy wheat also. First taste is good, however its all downhill from there. Strangely bitter aftertaste. Tastes like spiced spring-water. Strongly carbonated, light and crisp body, however its really awkward in the mouth without any flavor. Not terrible, but not worth my time to drink at home... next.
emacgee (1305), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Dec 16, 2008 Had this one years ago. Pretty substandard witbier. Pretty wheaty aroma and flavor. Orange peel shows up pretty strongly as does the spice. jimhilt (1493), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Oct 23, 2008 Pours a two finger white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Ugly clear very pale amber color. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Slight wheat nose. Flavor is citric and wheat. Tart/hoppy aftertaste. $1.45 for a 12oz bottle from Gillingham’s Woodstock, VT. dkachur (1205), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Sep 5, 2008 12 oz. bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Hazy pour and a color somewhere between peach and lemon. One finger white head lasts quite some time. Very yeasty nose with some pear, spice and banana notes. Very dry taste with notes of lemon, yeast and spice. A little tart. HoppyRob (1), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA does not count Aug 29, 2008 Comes off more like a pale lager or pils than a true WIt. Quite disappointed. boFNjackson (645), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 12, 2008 Bottle... Poured a hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma is spicy with some yeasty hops. A little too carbonated that made it overbearing in the mouth. Flavors were also slightly awkward and just too much of a spicy tartness and soapy aftertaste.
