Bottled, thanks chimalli! Hazy pale yellow, brief head. Lemony and sulphury nose. Light bodied and crisp, very citric and tart with a lovely freshness. Feels full of life and has a complexity and depth of flavours thst is unseen at 2.5%.

Bottle 50cl.
Unclear hazy light yellow color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, moderate citrus, moderate to heavy yeasty, barnyard, soap, acidic vinegar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and acidic - vinegar with a long duration, and a dry dry finish. Body is light medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. [20081018]

Yellow-green colour. Fresh tart aroma and some celery nose. Light body. Quite effervescent, again with celery notes and a clean lactic tartness. Fresh and dry, a tasty example.

Courtesy of Fonefan. First of all, you have to know, this is a Berliner style weisse, otherwise you would rate it wrong. At least I would have disliked it :) But knowing this, it’s a pretty nice specimen. The color is unclear, light golden like a wit and the head is weak. The aroma has notes of vinegar and barnyard. The flavour has notes of vinegar, chalk-remover, a sharp, but refreshing, citrus, light malt and the finish is sour and slightly sweet.

Bottle with former DDR label, from Der Doppelbock. Pale blonde, cloudy. Citrus, traubenzucker, chalk, salt and some flowery hops in the aroma. Salty flavor, sour with citrusfruit, especially lemon. IMO a mix of a Gose and a Berliner Weisse. Very tasty and likeable, in fact excellent!

A Mes rate. Bottle at the Weekend of Tarts.
thanks to Bullseye for this. Cleanish yellow with a good white head. An excellent funky and sour Berliner Weisse. Fruity and tart. Loads of lemon, good level of carbonation. Really drinkable. Proper summers day drink.

(50cl bottle) Pours a lightly hazy yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of lemon, barnyard, horse blanket, and earthiness. Flavor of tart lemon, funky brett, and some vinegar. Very refreshing summer beer. Excellent!

Shortlived snowwhite head; lemon coloured, fully hazy beer. Superb fresh nose, like lemon-enriched light beer with lactic acid, some kefir. Not unlike the West-Flemish "gueuzes" as Van Honsebrouck Fond Tradition. Floral, Brett-like, even some horsey smell. Nice sourish taste, lactic & citrus, with a dry, tart MF and stranger sideflavours as from old dried bread, or medicinal-phenolic. Light and very refreshing, when maybe less than a true Berliner. Excellent Weisse. The oldfashioned label speaks clearly of GDR-days gone by. It’s a relic - one to be cherished. Again one to thank Koelschtrinker for!
