Dark and Dry is made with a blend of apples and champagne yeast but caramelized sugar is added just before filtering to impart a deep bronze tone. White sugar is used in the Amber Cider.

Never really tried draft ciders before besides woodchuck’s granny smith. I’m pretty impressed with this one. Much fuller taste than the granny smith, alot sweeter too. Dark golden brown in color, aroma is sweet and of apples.

Pours out a amber/red color with no head, has a champagne note on the nose, certainly lives up to its name in terms of dryness, yet the apple isn’t quite as pronounced as with the amber ale. Drinks almost as easily as a soda, not bad but Woodchuck does make better

Experienced from a 12oz bottle in a tulip glass. The cider pours a color that is certainly not dark. More like a medium amber. The nose is very similar to regular Woodchuck, with perhaps a slightly more pronounced apple character. The palate is also very similar to the original, with perhaps the only change being that it is slightly fuller across the palate. The apple character is artificial and superficial, and the finish is more sweet than dry. Overall, this is a mass-market effort, not one that evidences artisanal production and emphasis on quality. Worth skipping.

Thanks to swalden28. Clear brown pour. Aroma is apple, brown sugar. Flavor is dust, sugar, apple, cloyingly sweet.

Bottle courtesy of Swalden28. Clear apple juice yellow pour. Apples on the aroma. Some dry notes as well. Taste is apple upfront with a dryness edging around. Finishes crisp and pleasuring.

As it plainly states on the bottle, this is Woodchuck’s drier cider offering and that term is rather relative as most of Woodchuck’s ciders are pretty darn sweet. This is very reminiscent of a sweet reisling and can leave your palate a little parched. Nose is of over-ripe tree fruit and it has a very light mouthfeel. Bring the taste back through your nose and you get more green pear than anything. Not a poor cider, but not the best.

Clear look, reddish amber in color with not really any head. The smell is apples, fruits, sweet, light tartness, and juicy. The taste is fruits, apples, sweet, and ok.
