Very sweet and tart without a strong alcohol taste. I'm going to start drinking more cider! Nate (2564), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Jun 29, 2003 Weak apple aroma, stale. Like white grape juice, some visible carb. White foam around meniscus. Light smooth carb & watery body. Very tart and dry. White wine tannin feel & taste. Rough. Watery apple taste. Not that good. jamrun (137), Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 11, 2003 Updated: Jun 12, 2003Barely has any color at all, just a tinge of yellow. Granny Smith tartness is detectable in small portions in the flavor and aroma, but not nearly as much as I'd expect. Tastes kind of like a Chardonnay with the aforementioned Jolly Rancher thrown in. I love Granny Smith apples, and I was expecting a lot more tartness/flavor. Nuffield (2728), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/20 | May 20, 2003 Holy cow, this is light! This was the first cider I had in the U.S. after having become more familiar with the style in Britain, and you have to regard this as Bud Light to a real cider. Almost water in appearance with a tinge of yellow. Spritzer aroma, better flavor because the tartness puckers the mouth. It ends with a medicinal edge (like children's cough syrup, though only mildly) and I think the observation of "Jolly Ranchers" is spot on. Though it has a bit of "freshness" to the apple flavors (if you know what Granny Smiths taste like; my dad had 22 apple trees in our suburban back yard when I was growing up, so I'm pretty familiar with apple varieties), it lacks the complexity and challenging flavors of a higher alcohol, full bodied, cask cider. Though it may be decent to American palates, do not think that this is representative of the style as a whole. whiterabbit81 (244), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 16, 2003 Yumm. I just purchased a Woodchuck Cider variety pack so I'm indulging in the various flavors of cider. They are all very good, and the Granny Smith is no exception. It's mildly tart with a natural taste of green apple. Real pleasant, with a great aftertaste. 2nd best Woodchuck (after the Dark & Dry). Frank (1071), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 5, 2003 Almost clear yellow. Mildly tart aroma with a hint of watermelon and green apple Jolly Ranchers. Slightly sweet with a semi-dry white wine finish. Fizzy, artificial carbonation. Refreshing on a hot day but lacking character.
