radagast83 (1272), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Nov 7, 2009 12 oz bottle. Cider is a amber color with no noticeable head. Aroma is apples (obviously) with touches of vanilla. Flavor is apples, vanilla, oak. Tart, sweet. Not something I’d have more than one of at the same time, but decent. dkachur (2314), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Nov 2, 2009 12 ounce bottle from a local grocery store. Pours a clear amber with a head that makes cola look good. Aroma is apples with vanilla and faint toasted oak notes. Taste is apples, oak, vanilla. Faintly spicy. Medium bodied. One of their better products. dlovell2 (136), Columbia, Maryland, USA Nov 1, 2009 Clear amber color with small white head. Apple aroma with slight spice notes. Apple flavor with slight wood taste. Tart finish. Slipstream (734), USA Oct 31, 2009 Nice-looking amber pour. Fresh, strong aroma of herbs and malt (strangely enough). This is a very flavorful cider. The oak is subtle and adds a little woody backbone to the lightly sweet cider. This is one of the best things I’ve had from Woodchuck, which is one of the best of the big American cideries. Strykzone (1458), Wood River, Illinois, USA Oct 3, 2009 Bottle at The Rotten Apple. What an interesting and pleasant cider! Very nice cinnamon, faint wood notes, and apple that was not as tart as expected. Vanilla flavors nicely smoothed out and complimented the other flavors. An excellent Fall cider. j12601 (1149), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Sep 27, 2009 Bottle I’d been seeking for a while and finally got my hands on courtesy of daknole. Thanks Dak! Pours a clear cognac brown with a small white head. Light wine and oak, a touch of acidity and some very light vinegar and barrel notes. Velvety mouthfeel, a bit sweet, but featuring a big caramel apple flavor. Finishes with some lingering sweetness. drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 12, 2009 12oz bottle into a pint glass. The cider pours brown with touches of red and almost no head all, but what there is is pretty white and bubbles burst forth through the top. The aroma is sour, but sweet and musty, almost dirty-sock-like. The taste is sour apple big at the front followed by a smooth delivery of red apple, vanilla, cream, and slight woodiness. The mouthfeel is of course super high carbonation, but it’s still nice and goes down easy. jjuf1853 (467), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Jul 27, 2009 Bottle pours a clear golden coppr color with an extremely thin white head. Fairly sweet aroma of apples and vanilla with a touch of musty woodiness and charcoal. The flavor is quite similar however the oak does begin to come through more in the aftertaste. Slightly dry mouthfeel with a bit of tartness in the finish. I’m not a big fan of ciders, but this isn’t that bad altough I was hoping for the oak notes to stand out more, oh well.
