Poured a clear amber color with minimal head. The aroma and flavor were of...wait for it.....apples. Sweet flavor with a mild woody vanilla.

first to get in H-TON, thanks Richard, you were one of the cool ones, cheers!.. .. . Pours a dark tan colour .. pretty fine head, medium to big for an american cider .. . musky wet wood, oak, and apple juice in the nostrils .. . you fancy a crisp gecko? .. . Refreshing as it should be expected, some woodiness in the mouth, to go with the apple sweetness and the slight brass of the oak ... .i liked it, but honestly it makes you think to much, and in an american mass cider, maybe not the best choice, that or it was just not good enough .. . similiar to the 802 in the mouth, but seems a aftertaste compared valium clean life insect ??

.. .. needs to be fuller and more oak, you know sell it in 22oz bomders with the abv bumped up to 10%, maybe throw it in a calvados cask???

Shared by EDA. What can i say they took apple juice, infused it with alcohol and rounded out the edges with vanilla and some light apple sweet caramel. Not bad for what it is.

Bottle shared by pepsican at a tasting. Poured a clear medium orange color with a fizzy disappearing white head. Smelled of apple and subdued vanilla. Sweet and light bodied with less carbonation than expected. I tasted some apple and oak. Oak-aged, yes, but it’s still pretty much a standard cider.

While I am not always in the mood for a cider, I will always welcome the opportunity to try a new one, and Woodchuck out of Vermont gave me just that with their Oak Aged Cider. Yes, I said oak. Knowing my love for oak and things aged in oak, unsurprisingly, I jumped all over this one like a 4 year old at Chuck-e-Cheese.

A limited release, I wasted no time bringing home a few bottles to savor at my pleasure. Her sparkling depths glinted and shone light brown with vivid orange hues through my glass. A tiny head of hyperactive bubbles fades quickly while a steady stream of her brethren flow ceaselessly to the top, bursting with crisp apple aromas. Highlighting the orchard of apple aromas are a pleasing mix of soft oak, cinnamon, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. A sweet essence of honey holds it all together, enticing me to take my first quaff. Sweet and bubbly, she nonetheless is full and mouth coating with honey, apples, and cinnamon. Bright, crisp, and flavorful, there is a softness lent to her overall palate by the oak in which she rested. Crunchy, juicy red and green apples abound, plopping me down in the middle of a vibrant apple orchard. A clean finish, cinnamon and oak cushion her growing sparkling apple crunchiness which finishes with a zest of tartness.

Of Woodchuck’s cider offerings, I would have to say that this along with their Dark & Dry is my two favorite offerings. In contrast to the multitude of beer offerings, available cider offerings pale in comparison which makes them an elusive journey upon which I must embark on with determination. The Oak Aged Cider from Woodchuck won’t be around forever so make sure to take home your six-pack while you can.

Pours an amber color with almost no head. Just a touch of light froth. Smell is dry, with lots of apples and a hint of yeast. Somewhat champagne like aroma. Taste is apples with sweetness and a definite oak flavor in the finish that lingers a bit. Not overdone but a nice complement to the apple flavor. I enjoyed this one. Somewhat thin body with soft to medium carbonation. Tasty, and a solid cider compared to the other widely available options.
