Ugh....it was just a matter of time before the cider crew would jump on the "oak aged" band wagon. Aroma was suprisingly weak. Just a hint of apple. Pour was a nice dark gold with some tiny bubbles but no head. Taste was delicious. Dark apple (if that makes sense) with strong prickly carbonation that couples with a wood flavor. You can almost taste the splinters...literally. While oak aged beers are too woody for my tastes, this is just right.

Looks like apple juice... Virtually no head, very little carbonation... Aroma is a bit vinegary, with sour apple notes.. Immensely better than any of the other woodchuck varieties... The faintest hint of vanilla... Surprisingly not bad... I was quite skeptical...

Pours a clear golden color with fat bubbled carbonation. A fizzy, off-white head dissipates almost instantly, leaving no lacing behind. The aroma is that of a typical, sugary, soda-like America cider, notes of sweet red apples showing strongest, with faint hints of tart green ones there for a counterpoint. There is just a wisp of oaky vanilla on the nose. Flavors are exactly the same, overly sweet and lacking in balancing tartness or zest. The soda-like mouthfeel is a disappointing, yet expected revelation. This cider is not really offensive in any way, but it just is not what I look for in the genre.

(bottle - 12 oz) Amber pour with a very thin head. Aroma is tart and a little sweet with some sweetness from the oak. The oak adds a lighter sweetness to the otherwise very sweet cider and really brings out the tartness of the apples. Finishes crisp and dry. Reminds me of the Dark and Dry which I really liked.

Bottle. Poured amber with no head. Sweet yet tart aromas of apple and a light wood background. The flavor is much the same but the oak is very subdued. Light body and sweet throughout.

Bottle from total wine. An oak aged cider? Seemed funny but it realy isnt bad at all. You get the normal apple cider that you would expect but some pleasant vanilla and bourbon flavors are present that really seem to work. Surprising for sure.

Headless and clear - coppery in color. Aroma is only a little cider, with a weird decaying banana undertone, with slight sourness.Very sweet with nice oaky vanilla notes up front. Not bad, but too sweet for regular drinking. $2/12oz

Bottle shared by Naka. Pours apple juice orange/yellow with little head and some effervescence. Nose of apples, apple cider vinegar and baby diaper. Apple juice sweetness with slight oak and sugary finish. Doesnt balance well with the sweetness. Dry it out and repeat. Will be tasty then.
