Sep 2, 2007 Color is a clear, very pale yellow - not good for a beer, but acceptable for pear cider. Aroma is strong and sweet, just like a pear, and very inviting because I love pears. Flavor is not strong, but it is delicious and refreshing, with just a hint of alcohol nip. Because it is so sweet and smooth, it could be insidious!
Good by itself, or a nice accompaniment to a meal or a party.

Aug 16, 2007 Musty pear and baby food aroma. Remarkably clear and Champagne colored. Sweet and sour pear flavor in good balance. The mustiness lingers a while, but it gives a little chaacter. It tastes like the 1950s, if that makes sense to anyone. Great novelty drink.

Aug 14, 2007 12oz bottle. Final non-sake style. Pours a clear, light straw color; headless, with an occasional effervescent bubble from the bottom of the glass. Watery aroma, with some pears and sugar. Light mouthfeel, with a decent concentration of pear and light apple cider flavor; very simple, slightly sugary, assertive mineral character; quite drinkable, but a weakling. Light, mineral and pear finish; a bit overripe.

Aug 11, 2007 LIght pear aroma. Clear as water with a few bubbles. LIghtly sweet, with a tart component. Very clean. Not all that pear. Something like apple skin comes through at the finish. Also a slightly cooked pear note. Finish is relatively dry. Arguably refreshing.

Aug 11, 2007 Smells candy-sweet, almost like a sweettart. Taste is similiar - sweet, very little pear flavor. Thin body, sweet finish.

Aug 11, 2007 It’s not beer...but was offered at the beer festival, so I’m reviewing it. If you like pear juice with a zing, this is it. What else is there to say? If you have a wife who doesn’t really like alcoholic beverages and you want to get her drunk, give this a try (not that it would work for me). Otherwise, go for a beer instead.
